Story of your life
Where your thoughts come alive
And the days take you closer to a life
That you desire to have
Tick-tock, the seconds sound
Tip-toe, your life silently crawls by
Flip-flop, You walk around
Like a suspect with an alibi
Story of a time in your life
When You feel the stare of silent eyes
Eagerly watching for your next slide
And yet you soar before their very eyes
But then, do you remember
That before the soar
There was a sore
Of uncertainty, doubt and fear
That dimmed the cheer of life:
The laughter, partying, friendships and falling in love
And brightened the pain of life:
The tears, mourning, ‘frenemies’ and heartbreaks
The rejections and mistakes
The loneliness and mockery
That taught you the best lessons
The different people
The different theories and ideas
The harmony of disharmony
And perfect imperfections
That awakened your mind
To new possibilities and opportunities
At the last strike of the clock
And You are told to stop work
You realise that the story has not ended
But had only just began
Tick-tock, the seconds sound
Tip-toe, your life slowly crawls by
Flip-flop, You walk around

Story of your life

But it's only a chapter
Which just came to a close
This is not an end
Until the author puts down His pen
He is the author and finisher
And you know He is not done
With the story of your life And this is just
A CLOSED CHAPTER.
This poem was written for all 2013/2014 Graduates of UG and others around the world.
